Luck!
We are at the stage where Rachel changes clothes constantly. If she gets a drop of water on a shirt or shorts, she changes and leaves the wet clothes wherever she drops them. Ugh! I would almost rather have her naked again! Sometimes...

When, where, and how do you sing?

Do you ever sing? Yes, a lot

Are you good at it? Not very since I lost my hearing significantly.

Do you care? Depends on where I am...if it is with the kids, nope!

Do you sing lullabies? I did when they were babies.

Do you catch yourself singing in unexpected locations like supermarket/elevator/doctor's office? I sometimes hum if a tune catches my ear.

Do you care? Not really.

Do your kids? Rachel? No. Jonah? He is mortified, but he is almost 11.

Do you sing in the car? I sing there the most.

How 'bout the shower? Not really. I take baths and that is my quiet/reading time.

Do you catch yourself harmonizing or playing air instruments whose physical counterparts you can actually play?

Yes, I still do that when I forget that I can no longer really hear them. Especially with church hymns. I grew up singing Alto and played piano. It was just a part of me. I had a room mate in college who was a music major for a short while. I remember being all of 18 years old and so very jealous of her b/c she was throwing away her talent with cigarettes. Pathetic, I know. Once upon a time, I sang in small groups in school, church, Allstate Choir, and College Choir my first two years. But now, I am pretty well tone deaf.

Do you like it a lot, a little, or not all that much? I miss it. Sometimes I don't care who hears me if I am singing something special for me or for Rachel (Jonah when he wasn't mortified). But I miss it being nice to hear. Sometimes I catch myself thinking I could do the harmony on a song like at church....and I miss it like a physical ache.

pickles?

You got a good point Christine. We struggle with portion size too. Maybe I should let him have the canned peaches for dessert. I think he likes canned passion fruit too. I've noticed he'll pick them out of the tropical fruit mixes and leave everything else.

What is it with the oldest kids being picky eaters? Jake is picky about the ripeness too. If the strawberries are too squishy, forget it. And if he gets one funky tasting carrot, then he won't eat the rest. He'll only eat broccoli if it's cooked, but never carrots if they are cooked. He's just an odd duck I guess. I did get him to try zucchini last week that I sauteed in butter and salt. Usually with a new veggie he will lick it and then throw up anything else he'd already eaten. This time I had him try it first and he didn't puke! He also said it was bland and refused to eat more than the one little slice I required of him. Baby steps.

My child the disease carrier??

The viruses are mutating because the vaccines are made to try to kill off a disease that isn't at all able to be fully killed off. In turn the virus becomes far more dangerous and will continue to do so...and then you not only have that problem, but also the issue of millions of kids without the proper immune systems to fight off these things. It's the same with antibiotic over use. We now have these super bugs that antibiotics aren't touching due to people filling their bodies with them when it's not needed.

Christian marriage & Hot Sex together in a sentence??

It was taboo in my house except for a few akward conversations with my mom that made me feel guilty for ever even thinking about it.

Scott and I both waited for each other and marriage. It took a while after we got married to get use to being naked around each other, and for him (more than me) to feel comfortable asking for sex. That has long since passed. Sex rocks for us, the only problem we have now is not getting enough. We joke that sex is great, and we have no idea if anyone else would think our sex is that great, but it doesn't matter.

I hate lumping things into "church" and "christians" because you are labeling people, and no two are alike. I know that my strong christian friends are far more comfortable talking about sex than my nonchristian friends. Maybe it is because my christian friends do not worry about being judged. I would say that there is a lot of quilt taught in high school, and some of the taboo is in some way necessary to keep teenagers for having sex. My experience has been that once married, we had books given to us, Bible studies, and even sermons preached about the importance of sex, and even christian books about ways to improve your technique. I think my experience has been this way because Dh and I have very close friendships with friends in our church our age. I feel comfortable talking to them about sex. I would not be discussing our sex life with strangers ya know?
