One thing I get a lot is, "Are you some kind of granola hippie or something?"

... I mean, I AM, but it doesn't mean I am because I practice attachment parenting. I also prefer to call it "Parenting" instead of adding the attachment part when talking to folks. There are a lot of assumptions.

Morning sickness WHIIIIIINNNNNEEEE

Lissa and Kris-you aren't the first people who suggested acupuncture. Amazingly enough, the ER doc I used to work with told me his wife had great results with it. Thank you for the advice!! I will definitely look into it further.

Brooke-I just spent 1 1/2 hours looking through your beautiful website and reading all about Karen Hurd. Vanessa told me to try the bean thing and I half-heartedly gave it a shot last week but this puts new determination into me. What's funny is that i already eat tons of beans, I just stopped eating them so much when I started feeling sick. Right now I've got homemade baked beans, chili beans, and refried pinto beans all sitting in my fridge. I probably also have a few cans of garbanzo beans somewhere........I'm off to give this my best effort.

Thank you for the advice ladies!

OFF TOPIC --- My midwife dropped me today @ 40 weeks

I'm sorry Michelle. It seems you don't get to have a peaceful pregnancy at all. What about this back-up doc? Is he/she vbac friendly? Is it possible you could use him at the hospital and have a somewhat peaceful birth? I guess in your shoes I'd put my energy toward setting myself up with the doctor and hospital I would feel would be the least negative to my desires and find a way to make the best of that. You can still keep unassisted in the back of your mind and know that if you change your mind in the middle of it all that you have this doctor you've already chosen to who you can turn to.

I'm really sorry though. I'm sure this is stressing you out way more than you need. (((hug)))

Do any of you order half steer/pig/lamb?

Thanks, ladies.

I have been eating pastured meat for years, so I know what I'm getting into in terms of cook time and texture. I've just always had the fortune of having access to a farmer who sells whatever cuts you want.

I have some farmers in mind, so I'll talk to them when I get back. The one I would buy the pork and lamb from has a truly awesome farm. I buy chickens and eggs from him regularly, and I had the fun of seeing his farm when I picked up my Thanksgiving turkey. When he was explaining how he does things, he actually asked me if I knew who Joel Salatin of Polyface farms was! I was so excited that he uses his rotation methods.
